Oliveira Cotta was commissioned to develop the conceptual design for a new international airport in the state of São Paulo, encompassing domestic and international terminals, external commercial areas, parking structures, a hotel, hangars, a cargo terminal, and the overall site layout.
The project integrates principles of parametric architecture with a contemporary organic design. Constructed primarily in concrete and metal, the interiors combine wood and light-colored materials, creating a welcoming and spacious atmosphere. The terminal’s curved roof forms an almost fluid space, incorporating skylights that allow natural light to permeate the interior, enhancing the quality of the passenger experience.
This architectural approach improves user comfort, emphasizes efficient and bioclimatic solutions, and ensures harmony between functionality and aesthetics throughout the airport complex.
