The Santo Amaro Metro Station expansion project , located in São Paulo, addressed the need to accommodate a high daily passenger flow — approximately 80,000 people — and improve integration between the Metro Line 5-Lilás and CPTM Line 9-Esmeralda. Previously, the integration corridor was narrow, causing delays and overcrowding during peak hours.
The project included the addition of two new walkways alongside the existing station, overcoming a 120-meter clear span over the Pinheiros River without intermediate supports. The integration corridor was also significantly expanded, while new escalators and elevators were installed to enhance passenger flow and accessibility.
To improve thermal comfort, a natural ventilation study was conducted, incorporating floor openings that allow efficient air circulation and create a pleasant environment for users.
