Oliveira Cotta was commissioned by Evonik to design the company's new R&D center, located in the city of Americana. The building integrated nine former laboratories into one single facility with higher synergy. The laboratories were located at the perimeter of the plan, in order to have easier access to the technical areas. Additionally, in the center of the building were located generous office space and coffee areas, which received abundant daylight through skylights, creating a pleasant environment that also increases employees' productivity.
